DOCTRINE

I INTRODUCTION

Presented in this booklet are the doctrinal statements of the Assembly of Yah, a nondenominational, fellowship.

The doctrinal statements do not constitute a closed creed. The Assembly is always open to spiritual growth and to new and better understanding of the Bible.

This booklet is designed to set forth the cardinal teachings of the Assembly, which form the basis for the Assembly's united work in proclaiming the plan of salvation.

The Assembly of Yah believes there often is a marked difference between what the Bible in fact teaches and what is generally taught to be scriptural "truth" by many believers and representative denominations. Since truth sets humans free (John 8:32), it is the great responsibility of the truth-seeking individual to study the Bible openly and honestly to find further truth and to enjoy a standing of approval before the all-knowing Advocate of Truth.
FORWARD

This booklet is published by the Assembly of Yah, Spirit of Truth Publishing, and is intended to promote Bible study. The literature of the Assembly of Yah is printed and distributed without financial charge. We pray the receivers of our literature will be inspired to study Yah's Word, the Bible, and that their appreciation for His Word will be reflected in their lives.

The publishing work of the Assembly of Yah is supported by freewill offerings from those who benefit by it.

Note: These are true doctrines, delivered to our fathers and profitable for all reproof, for correction, and instruction in righteousness: That the man of Yahweh may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (II Tim. 3:16-17) But, without love and charity, all knowledge and obedience is worthless.
We are known by the love we have for one another (John 15:12-17; Rom. 13:8; I Peter 2:17; and I John 3:11-17).
More information and studies are available on these subjects. Please write for additional material.
Most of us cannot remember all the verses that support why we believe a certain truth. We are to have a ready answer when we are asked for the hope that we hold inside (I Peter 3:15). We find it convenient to carry this booklet for reference and self review. Let the Word and the Law be in your mouth, and in your heart.

HOLD ON TO THAT WHICH IS GOOD...

DOCTRINAL BELIEFS OF THE ASSEMBLY OF YAH

I. BELIEF AND SALVATION
        Doctrines that Reveal Salvation 1

1.Yahweh

The supreme Deity of the universe is Yahweh. He is the Almighty, the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens, the earth, and all things therein. Although we usually think of Yahweh as a singular entity, the Yahhead is a unity (echad in the Hebrew language) which includes the Father and the Son.

Genesis 1:1 Yahweh created heaven and earth.
Genesis 1:26-27 More than one individual referred to as Yahweh, the Creator.
Acts 14:15; 17:24-25; Nehemiah 9:6; Psalm 124: Revelation 14:7 Yahweh made the heaven, earth, the sea, and all things therein.
Isaiah 40:26, 28 Yahweh created the heavenly bodies and called them by name.
Isaiah 44:24 Yahweh created all things.
John 1:18; 5:37 Yahweh (the Father) has never been seen and His voice has never been heard.

2. Yahshua

Yahshua is the only begotten Son of Yahweh (the Father), conceived of the Kodesh Spirit and born to the virgin Mary. He is the Messiah, sent from the Father to be our Savior and Redeemer. Before His earthly ministry, He existed eternally as part of the Binitarian "Yahhead". He is YAHWEH of the Old Testament, according to I Corinthians 10:4. He will return soon to the earth and reign for a thousand years in Jerusalem.

John 1:18; I John 4:9 Yahshua is the only begotten Son of Yahweh.
John 8:42 Yahshua was sent by Yahweh, the Father.
Matthew 14:33 Yahshua's disciples recognized He was the Son of Yahweh.
Matthew 16:16 Peter declared Yahshua was the Messiah.
Luke 1:26-35 The virgin, Mary, was told she would bear a Son, conceived of the Kodesh Spirit.
Acts 4:12 Salvation is in no other person or name.
John 1:41; Ephesians 1:7; Titus 2:14 He is Messiah and Redeemer.
John 1:1 He pre-existed with Yahweh and as Yahweh of the Old Testament.
John 20:28; Hebrews 1:8 He was recognized as Yahweh after His resurrection.
John 1:3; Colossians 1.16; 2:9 Yahshua shared in creation.
Hebrews 1:6; Matthew 2:2, 8; 8:2; 9:18 He received worship of men and angels.
I Corinthians 10:1-4; Exodus 14:21-25 He was referred to as LORD (Yahweh) in the Old Testament. [King James substitutes]
Exodus 33:23; 20:1, 22 He was seen and heard; hence, this could not have been the Father (John 1:18; 5:37).
Micah 5:2; Isaiah 9:6 Eternal being.
Revelation 1:8; 2:8; Isaiah 41:4; 44:6 The same, first and last.

3. The Sacred Names of the Father and the Son

The true Name of the Eternal Father is YAHWEH, which means eternal or I AM. The true Hebrew Name of the Son of the Kodesh Father is YAHSHUA, or Salvation of Yah. They have many names in different translations, but these are the true scriptural ones. They are to be used for respect and a closer relationship to the Father and the Son. The following scriptures were restored to the Sacred names by research of the Hebrew text prior to the 1500's.
Isaiah 42:8 "I [am] YAHWEH: that [is] my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither My praise to graven images." establish it; YAHWEH [is] his name;"

Exodus 3:15 "And YAHWEH said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, the ELOHIM of your fathers, the ELOHIM of Abraham, the ELOHIM of Isaac, and the ELOHIM of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this [is] my name for ever, and this [is] my memorial unto all generations." YAHSHUA CAME IN HIS FATHER'S NAME AND AUTHORITY. John 5:43 "I come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive." Philippians 2:9-10 "That at the name of Yahshua every knee should bow..." Acts 4:10-12 "Be it known unto you all, and to all people of Israel, that by the name of Yahshua Messiah of. Nazareth. Whom ye crucified, whom YAHWEH raised from the dead, [even] by Him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at naught of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved."

4. The Kodesh Spirit

The Kodesh Spirit (also called the Holy Ghost) is the Comforter whom Messiah promised to send to take His Place. It is not a person, but is the extension of the living power of the Father. Yahweh and the Son give the Kodesh Spirit to those who ask and obey Him. It is received after baptism by the laying on of hands by the Elders.
By His Kodesh Spirit, Father Yahweh reveals Bible truth to men and gives power to witness for Him. Evidence of the Kodesh Spirit is manifested in lives by words spoken, by fruit of the Spirit, and by keeping the commandments of Yahweh.
Luke 11:9-13 The Father gives the Kodesh Spirit to those who ask Him.
Acts 2:4 Ghost and Spirit are used interchangeably (KJV). Acts 9:17 Be filled with the Spirit. John 16:7, 13 Comforter or Kodesh Spirit also sent by Yahshua. John 14:16-17, 26 The Kodesh Spirit is called the Spirit of Truth and The Comforter. Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:22; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 The Kodesh Spirit gives power to witness, produce fruit in lives, and administer gifts for the edification of the assembly. I John 3:24; Acts 5:32 The Kodesh Spirit in-dwells those who keep Yah's commandments. Luke 1:35; Genesis 1:2 The Spirit is Yah's power to accomplish His will.

5. The Fall of Man

Man was created in the image and likeness of the Creator, but he disobeyed Yahweh, bringing the curse of sorrow, hardship and death upon all mankind.
Genesis 1:26-27 Man was created in the image of Yahweh (to have dominion). Genesis 3:1-6; 16-19 Adam and Eve were cursed because of disobedience. I Corinthians 15:22; Romans 5:12 Because of sin, death came upon all men. Joshua 24:15; Proverbs 1:19; Isaiah 7:15; Deuteronomy 30:19 Man has free will to do good or evil.

6. The Plan of Salvation

The plan of salvation was provided by Yahweh as the means by which man may escape the penalty of eternal death pronounced upon him. Yahshua was sent to earth to redeem man from the curse of sin. This was accomplished after Yahshua lived a sinless life, and gave His life sacrificially by shedding His blood on the stake of Calvary, and was resurrected triumphant over death. Yahshua took our place in death and offered His perfect life as a substitute for our sinful ones. This gift of Yahweh which offers eternal life, is available to all who will accept it on Yahweh's terms.

II Peter 3:9 Yahweh is not willing that any should perish.
John 3:16 Yahweh gave His Son--whosoever believes in Him will not perish.
John 10:1, 7, 9; Acts 4:10-12 Yahshua is the only door to salvation.
Romans 5:10-11 We receive atonement and are saved by Yahshua's life.
Hebrews 4:15; I Peter 2:24; II Corinthians 5:21; Romans 3:24-25; I John 2:2 Yahshua was sinless and became the propitiation for our sins through faith in His blood.
Acts 20:28 Yahshua purchased the Assembly of Yahweh with His blood. (All in the true faith)
I Corinthians 15:13-23 Yahshua's resurrection gives assurance that the plan of salvation will be completed.
I Peter 1:18-19 We are redeemed with the blood of Yahshua.

7. Accepting Yahshua

Conversion, also called the new birth, is the process by which one is changed from his old, sinful life into a new creature in Yahshua. An individual accepts Yahshua by exercising faith in Yahweh and His plan of salvation through Yahshua; confessing and repenting of his sins; making restitution, where possible; and in obedience to Yahweh, patterning his life after the example set by Yahshua. True conversion will show the fruits of the Spirit. John 3:3-8; Romans 8:4-11, 15, 23 One must be born again to enter the Kingdom of Yahweh. (The new birth has two phases, present and future.) II Corinthians 5:17 Any man in Messiah is a new creature. Hebrews 11:6 Whoever comes to Yahweh must have faith. I John 1:9 If we confess our sins they will be forgiven. Matthew 5:23-24 Before bringing a gift to the altar, be reconciled to your brother. Luke 24:47 Repentance is to be preached. Acts 2:38 Repentance and baptism prepare us to receive the Kodesh Spirit. Philippians 2:5-8 We should have the mind of Yahshua, who was obedient unto death. I John 2:6; 1 Peter 2:21 Yahshua left us an example and we should walk in it. Romans 10:9 Confess the Messiah, Yahshua. 8. The Bible The Kodesh Bible is the divinely inspired Word of Yahweh. No other writing is of such divine origin. The Bible is infallible in teaching, and it contains the complete revelation of the plan of salvation and the will of Yahweh for man. Yahweh's Word is eternal. Yahshua is the Word.

II Peter 1:20; Romans 15:4 Men of Yah spoke as they were moved by the Kodesh Spirit.
John 17:17 Yahweh's Word is truth.
Proverbs 30:6; Deuteronomy 12:32; Romans 3:4 Neither add nor diminish from Yah's Word.
John 5:39 The Scriptures (Old Testament) testify of Yahshua, the means by which salvation comes to mankind.
II Timothy 3:15-17 Scriptures are given by the inspiration of Yahweh and are able to make us wise unto salvation. (The New Testament was not yet catalogued at the time Paul gave this admonition.) Matthew 24:35 Yahweh's Word will never pass away.

9. Water Baptism

The word shows us that baptism is to be by immersion. It is an act of power and obedience and symbolizes the burial of our sinful nature and the rising of a new creature to walk in service and obedience to Yahweh. It also represents the answer of a good conscience toward Yahweh. With reasonable opportunity, one must be baptized into the name of Yahshua the Son of salvation
Matthew 3:16 Following His baptism, Yahshua walked up out of the water.
Acts 8:38-39 Philip and the eunuch both went into the water.
I Peter 3:21 Baptism is the answer to a good conscience toward Yahweh.
Romans 6:4-5 Baptism is a type of burial and rising to walk in newness of life.
Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Yahshua Messiah for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Kodesh Spirit.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

10. Baptism of the Kodesh Spirit

There is a required baptism by water, but in addition to that, there is a baptism of the Kodesh Spirit that is given by Yahweh at His own discretion. This special gift is not required for salvation or the Kingdom, but it is a deeper revelation and communication with the Father.
Matthew 3:11"I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Kodesh Spirit, and [with] fire:"
Mark 1:18 "I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Kodesh Spirit." Luke 3:16 "John answered, saying unto [them] all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Kodesh Spirit and with fire:"

Acts 1:5 "For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Kodesh Spirit not many days hence."

II. BELIEVER'S WORK & ACTION Doctrines that Reveal Responsibility

11. Prayer

Yahweh's people are to pray to their heavenly Father in the name of Yahshua, their only Mediator and High Priest, Who is at the right hand of Yahweh the Father. Those who earnestly call upon Him will have their prayers answered in accordance with Yahweh's will. There are many types of prayer. But, along with intercessory, requests, guidance and thanksgiving, the body needs to train and do spiritual warfare prayer for victory.

ITimothy 2:8 Men should pray everywhere.
Luke 18:1 Men ought always to pray, and not to faint.
IThessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
Philippians 4:6 Prayer may be used to express needs and appreciation.
John 14:13-14; I John 5:14 We are to ask in Yahshua's name.
Hebrews 4:14-16 Yahshua is the qualified High Priest.
ITimothy 2:5 Yahshua is the only Mediator between Yahweh and man.
Romans 8:34 Yahshua intercedes at the right hand of Yahweh.
James 1:6 Faith must accompany prayer.
Proverbs 28:9 Prayer of the disobedient is an abomination.
Matthew 6:9-13 Yahshua gave a model prayer which includes praise, thanks, and petitions. James 4:7 Resist the Devil. I Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight

12. Prayer for the Sick

Yahweh answers individual and collective prayers of faith offered in behalf of the sick. It is scriptural for the sick to call for the elders of the Assembly to anoint them with oil and pray for their healing, if they are repentant!
James 5:14-15 Sick may call the elders who will anoint with oil. Psalm 103:3 Yahweh heals all diseases. II Kings 20:1-6 Hezekiah's request for healing was granted. Acts 28:8 Father of Publius was healed through prayer. Matthew 6:5-8 Not to pray as hypocrites or with vain repetition. Acts 27:33-37 It is proper to pray before meals, even amidst unbelievers.

13. The Believer's Passover

In the New Testament Passover, we eat unleavened bread and drink the fruit of the vine as symbols of our Savior's Body and Blood, which He offered as a payment and sacrifice for sin. In partaking of these emblems, we commemorate the Son's death, proclaim our hope in His return, commune with one another as the body of the Messiah, and symbolize our continued union with the Savior.

Exodus 12:2-8 (11, 21: the animal) (13,14, 23: the event) (24-27: the memorial Passover) Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; Luke 22:19-20 Yahshua instituted the New Testament Passover to symbolize the Renewed Covenant, which He ratified by His death.
I Corinthians 5:6-8 Yahshua is our Passover.
I Corinthians 11:23-26 The New Testament Passover looks back in commemoration of Yahshua's death, but also looks forward in anticipation to the coming Messianic Kingdom.
I Corinthians 10:16-17 The New Testament Passover is a communion or common sharing which unites the participants in fellowship with Yahshua, and so with one another.

Note: The Assembly observes the New Testament Passover on the night beginning the fourteenth day of the first month of the year (Abib/Nisan) as determined by the first visible new moon in Jerusalem on or after the Spring equinox. This is the way it was observed by Yahshua when first established by Him. Although we prefer and, in fact, use grape juice, wine is made available to those who make their desires known. No one should be critical of another who differs on this point of observance.

14. Foot washing

The ordinance of the washing of the feet was given by Yahshua as an example of humility, and it is practiced in connection with the observance of the New Testament Passover. As we wash our brother's feet, it is also Yahshua in us who does it again
John 13:1-5 Yahshua instituted washing of feet.
John 13:6-12 Yahshua washed the disciples' feet.
John 13:13-17 Yahshua instructed that this act should be continued.
I Timothy 5:1-10 Foot washing was practiced in the early assembly.
Luke 14:11 Yahshua taught humility.
James 4:10 We are lifted up after we humble ourselves.

15. The Ten Commandments

The Ten Commandments constitute a major part of the basic law of Yahweh for the conduct of His people. To transgress His law is to commit sin. By observing them, one expresses his love to Yahweh and man.

They are unique in that they were written by the finger of the Almighty, Himself. No part of this Decalogue has been revoked or changed, and it is still to be observed in its entirety.
Exodus 20:2-17 The Ten Commandments
Exodus 31:18; 32:15-16 They were written by the finger of Yahweh.
Deuteronomy 5:22 He added no more. (Yahweh no longer spoke aloud so all the people could hear His voice.)
Deuteronomy 7:9 Yahweh keeps covenant with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to 1000 generations.
John 14:15; I John 5:2-3 Keeping His commandments is evidence of our love for Yahweh and our brethren.
Matthew 22:37-40 On the two commandments to love Yah and our neighbor hang all the law and the prophets.
James 2:10 Whoever offends in one point is guilty of all.
James 2:12 We should live as though we will be judged by the law of liberty.
I John 2:3 We know Him if we keep His commandments.
I John 3:4 Sin is the transgression of the law.
Romans 3:20 By the law is the knowledge of sin. Matthew 5:18 The law will stand as long as heaven and earth.
Proverbs 28:9 To ignore the law is to make our prayers an abomination.
Matthew 19:17 If you would be saved, keep my commandment.

16. The Sabbaths

The fourth commandment of the Decalogue enjoins the people of Yahweh to observe the Sabbath, the seventh day of the week, commonly called Saturday. It is to be regarded as kodesh from sunset Friday until sunset Saturday. It was given as a memorial of creation, and it is to be used for worship and rest. Consistent with this, secular work is to be excluded on the Sabbath. The Sabbath is also a mark on His called out ones. [Exodus 31]

In addition to weekly Sabbaths, annual Sabbaths, or Feast Days, should be observed. Also, every seventh year, from the Day of Atonement, is a land Sabbath, of land rest.
Genesis 2:3 Yahweh blessed and sanctified the seventh day. Exodus 20:8-11 The fourth commandment. Leviticus 23:32 Sabbaths are observed from even to even. Luke 4:16 It was Yahshua's custom to observe the Sabbath. Acts 17:2 Paul observed the Sabbath many years after Yahshua's death. Mark 2:27-28 The Sabbath was made for man (not the Jews only); Yahshua is Master of it. Acts 13:14, 42, 44 Paul worshipped on the Sabbath. Acts 16:13 Women had prayer on the Sabbath. Acts 18:4, 11 Paul observed the Sabbath for eighteen months at Corinth. Isaiah 56:2; 58:13-14 Sabbath is kodesh. Leviticus 25:1-7 Land Sabbath to be observed. Matthew 24:20 Sabbath kept after Yahshua's ascension. Isaiah 66:23 The Sabbath will be recognized in the new earth after Yahshua's return.
Annual Sabbaths (Feast Days)
Leviticus 23:1-44 All feast days listed and commanded to be kept forever as “feasts of Yahweh” Exodus 23:14-17 Feast days were a part of the covenant before the ceremonial laws were given. Jeremiah7:22-23; Galatians3:19 Sacrificial law was added after the laws of obedience, because of transgression of the laws of obedience. Zechariah 14:16 “…go up from year to year to worship the King, Sovereign of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

17. Worldliness

The scriptures condemn worldliness, which includes "the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life" (I John 2:16). Therefore a Believer should not conform to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of his mind so that he may know what is the will of Yahweh for him. His life should be an example to both believer and non-believer. Romans 12:2 We should not be conformed to the world.
Ephesians 4:23-24 We should be renewed in the spirit of our mind.
Romans 8:12-14 We should not live after the flesh.
I Timothy4:12We should be an example for other believers
I Peter 2:11-12 Abstain from lust; show good works.
Galatians 5:16-21Works of the flesh will keep us from the kingdom
I John 2:15-17 We are not to lust after the things of this world which will pass
away.
Colossians 3:1-10 Seek those things which are above ;mortify the members on the earth. I Corinthians 15:33 Bad company corrupts.

18. Spiritual Warfare

The Believer is aware that Satan is real and, along with a host of demons, is out to deceive and destroy the Assembly. Believers know of this fact and train themselves and others to do spiritual warfare against the enemy. "We battle not against flesh and blood..." The Believer understands Ephesians 6 and has put on the whole armor of Yahweh and shine it up each day. He also uses spiritual warfare prayer against demonic attack: binding, loosing angels, casting out evil spirits, intercessory prayer, and scriptural authority. General prayer is not spiritual warfare.
Matthew 18:18-19Authority of two or more to bind demons and loose angels.
Psalm 91:11We have ministering angels to protect us.
Luke 9:1 and 10:17 Demons are made subject to us.
II Corinthians 10:4; Ephesians 6:10-18; and I Peter 5:6 11 We battle against Satan and spirits, not against flesh and blood. The armor and weapons we use are spiritual from Ephesians 6.
Romans 5:9 We are justified and covered with the blood of Yahshua, for protection.
James 4:7 "...Resist the devil and he will flee from you." Matthew 10:1 Yahshua gave His disciples power over "unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of disease." I John 5:14-16 If we ask according to His will, He hears us. (We can intercede for our brother.)

19. Defiling Habits

The bodies of Yahweh's children are the temples of the Kodesh Spirit. Therefore, Believers must guard against sensual lusts and filthiness. They must refrain from all practices and habits which are harmful and defile the body. I Corinthians 3:16-17; 6:19; II Corinthians 6:16 Our bodies are the temples of Yah. I Corinthians 6:18-19 Flee fornication. Our bodies are the temples of the Kodesh Spirit. II Corinthians 7:1 We must cleanse ourselves from filthiness of the flesh. I John 2:16 Lust is of the world, not of the Father. James 1:14-15 Submitting to lust leads to death. Galatians 5:19-21 Works of the flesh prevent inheritance of the Kingdom Colossians 3:5-8 We are to mortify the deeds of the flesh. Ephesians 5:18 Be not drunk with wine wherein is excess. Titus 2:12 We must deny worldly lust. I Corinthians 9:27; Revelation 3:21 Over-comers will share in Yah's kingdom.

20. Clean and Unclean

The distinction between clean and unclean meats with respect to foods is to be observed today as Yahweh's will, because it was given by Him for man's benefit, and to reflect our obedience. Genesis 7:1-3 Noah knew which animals were clean and unclean. Leviticus 11:2-47; Deuteronomy 14:3-20 Clean and unclean animals were designated. Deuteronomy 6:24; 10:12-13 Yahweh's laws are for our good always. Acts 10:9-14; 28 Peter recognized the difference between clean and unclean animals. Isaiah 66:15-17 When Yahshua returns to judge the nations, certain foods will still be an abomination.

21. Financial Stewardship [Tithing]

The New Testament, by principle and example, teaches that the work of the assembly is to be supported by the financial stewardship of its members. Yahweh's work has always been supported by tithes and freewill offerings. Love will motivate each member to give freely and cheerfully without any need for begging or coercion by the ministry. The first 10% of our increase belongs to Yahweh. Genesis 14:18-20; Hebrews 7:1-6 Abraham gave a tithe to Melchizedek. (Melchizedek was not a Levite. Genesis 28:20-22 Jacob agreed to return the tithe to acknowledge Yah's care for him. Luke 11:42 The tithe is to be given in a spirit of love. I Corinthians 9:7-13; I Timothy 5:17-18 Paul speaks of a need to support the ministry. I Corinthians 9:14 Paul identifies one means by which the ministry should be supported. II Corinthians 9:6-7 Yahweh loves and blesses those who give generously and cheerfully.

 22. Carnal Warfare

A Believer is to love and work for the salvation of all mankind. Since this includes his enemies, a child of Yah will not participate in carnal warfare. Romans 12:17 We do not return evil for evil. Romans 12:19-21 We should not avenge ourselves but rather do good to our enemies. We overcome evil with good. Matthew 5:43-44 We must love our enemies. John 18:36 Yahshua did not allow his servants to fight because His kingdom is not of this world. Matthew 26:51-52 Those who take the sword perish by it. II Corinthians 10:4 The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. Exodus 22:2; 21:12-14; Esther 3:8-13; and 8:10-11 Personal self-defense is permissible.

23. Pagan Days

Sunday, Christmas, Easter, Lent, and Halloween, are pagan in origin. To observe them is to cause intermixing and defiling of our worship to Yahweh with unacceptable religions, a practice denounced by the Bible. II Chronicles 21:11 The establishment of "high places" caused Jerusalem to commit fornication. II Chronicles 28:4, 25 Yahweh is angered when other gods are recognized. Deuteronomy 12:29-32; Jeremiah 10:2 We should not learn the way of the heathen. Jeremiah 10:1-5; Describes the pagan tradition of the Christmas tree.

24. Marriage and Divorce

Marriage was instituted by Yahweh and was meant to last as long as both partners live. Those who divorce must have legal grounds such as “fornication”, as in Matthew 5:32. But, the term “put away”, means separate, not a legal divorce. A man can not remarry if he is separated. And, it is legal to be divorced, and remarried without breaking the law. This includes an Elder of the Assembly. However, it is not a good witness to the rest of the brethren. Romans 7:1-3; 1 Corinthians 7:39 A woman is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. Matthew 5:32; 19:9 Whoever puts away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery. Mark 10:11-12; Luke 16:18 Whoever puts away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery. Luke 20:28-36 None will be married in the resurrection.

III STUDY AND RESEARCH

 Doctrines that Reveal Learned Truth

25. Impalement of Yahshua

Yahshua was impaled on a Wednesday and was placed into the tomb just before sundown on that day. Just before sundown on the following weekly Sabbath-three days and three nights later-He arose from the grave, thus fulfilling accurately the prophecy He had uttered concerning this event, as recorded in Matthew 12:29- 40. Matthew 12:29-40 Yahshua was to be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. I Corinthians 15:3-4 He was buried and rose again the third day according to the scriptures. Mark 8:31, 9:31 Yahshua said He would rise again three days after being killed. Matthew 28:1 The first visit was made to the tomb "in the end of the Sabbath." The women saw only an empty tomb. Mark 16:1-6; Luke 24:1-6; John 20:1-9 All other visits were to an empty tomb. No one saw Yahshua leave. John 19:31 The "preparation" day on which Yahshua was slain was preceding an annual Sabbath, (the first day of unleavened bread [Abib 15] according to Leviticus 23:6- 8). This is not to be confused with the weekly Sabbath.
John 19:14 It was preparation for the Passover (By this time some of the Jews were eating their Passover meal on the beginning of the 15th day of the month, showing they have already changed the calendar.)

26. Preexistence of Yahshua

Yahshua was present with Yahweh and was preeminent in the Creation. He shared His Father's glory before taking on the form of man. He was conceived of the Kodesh Spirit, born to the virgin, Mary, and when He left the earth, He returned to His former abode. Colossians 1:15, 17 Yahshua is the firstborn of every creature. Firstborn in this verse comes from the Greek word prototokos, and means preeminent, first in rank-- -not first in time, as if he were created. Revelation 3:14 He was the beginning (origin, source) of the creation. John 1:1 He was "in the beginning.“ Genesis 1:26 "Let us make man in our own image." (Plural pronouns denote the plural persons in the Yahhead.)

Matthew 25:31-32 Yahshua will come to sit upon His throne. Before Him will be gathered all nations.
Matthew 24:29-31 Yahshua will come after the tribulation.

28. Millennial Reign of Yahshua

Yahshua will establish His Kingdom on the earth at His second advent, where the redeemed will reign with Him for 1,000 years. This is the time of "restitution" of Acts 3:21, and is also called "regeneration" in Matthew 19:28.

During this millennial age Yahshua will put all enemies, including Death, under His feet, after which He will turn the Kingdom over to Yahweh, the Father.

I Corinthians 15:24-28 Yahshua reigns until all enemies are destroyed; then turns the kingdom over to Yahweh, the Father.

29. Satan

Satan, a being, who is also called the Devil, is the adversary of Yahweh and His people. A deceiver, capable of trans-forming himself into an angel of light, he was a murderer from the beginning and a liar. He must be resisted by Yahweh's people. He will ultimately be destroyed in the "lake of fire." Resisting him is done by Spiritual Warfare, breaking curses, binding unclean spirits and deliverance.

30. Punishment of the Wicked

Death, not eternal life in torment, is faced by unrepentant sinners. The wicked will be punished by being cast into the "lake of fire" which will consume them. This is accomplished after the 1000 years, at the white throne judgment.
Matthew 10:28 We must fear Yahweh who can destroy both body and soul in hell (gehenna).
Romans 6:23 The wages of sin is death. Ezekiel 18:4, 20 The soul that sins will die.

Malachi 4:1-3 The wicked will burn as stubble and be ashes.
Revelation 20:15 Whoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the "lake of fire. "

31. State of the Dead

There is no consciousness in death. When a man dies, "his breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish" (Psalm 146:4). He remains in that state until the day of his resurrection. The same body is risen and glorified. Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 The dead know and experience nothing. Job 14:13-14; 17:13 Job will wait in his grave until his change comes. Psalm 146:4 When man's breath goes, his thoughts perish. John 11:11-14 Yahshua called Lazarus' death a sleep. Hebrews 11:39-40 Righteous men of old have not received their reward. Genesis 2:7; Ezekiel 18:4, 20 Man is a soul and a soul can die. John 3:13 No man has ascended to heaven… Acts 2:29 David that is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

I Thessalonians 4:16 The righteous dead are resurrected when Yahshua returns. I Corinthians 15:51-52 The righteous living will receive immortality at Yahshua's coming. Revelation 20:5 The rest of the dead live not until after the 1,000 years. Revelation 20:13-15 Those sentenced to the second death are punished.

33. The Assembly

The Assembly consists of baptized believers who have the testimony of Yahshua and follow the will of Yahweh in their lives. The Assembly is of divine origin under the Mastership of Yahshua and exists universally and locally for the preaching of the evangel, for the nurture and fellowship of believers, and for service to the human race. The most frequent reference used for the Assembly in the New Testament Greek is "ecclesia" meaning assembly or called out ones.
In the Old Testament we have the name MoadiYah (Nehemiah 12:17), which means "Assembly of Yah". Therefore, we choose to be called the Assembly of Yah.
Colossians 1:18 Yahshua is the head of the body, the Assembly.
Acts 20:28 The Assembly has been purchased with the blood of Yahshua.
I Corinthians 1:2 The Assembly consists of those sanctified in Yahshua Messiah and called to be kodesh, together with those everywhere who call on the name of Yahshua.

Matthew 16:18 Yahshua speaks of the Universal Assembly. Matthew 18:17 Yahshua speaks of the local assembly.

34. Assembly Organization

Assembly organization, patterned after the Biblical example, is scriptural and expedient. It provides the means by which cooperative efforts may be coordinated to (1) proclaim the good news of salvation more effectively, (2) discover Biblical standards and doctrines, and (3) promote fellowship as members of the family of Yahweh. (4) Heal the sick. (5) Heal the broken hearted. (6) Cast out demons.
I Corinthians 12:12-30 The Assembly is compared to the human body.
Ephesians 4:11-16 Various offices listed, along with the reason for this organization.
Ephesians 2:19-22 The Assembly is compared to a building carefully fitted together.

I Timothy 3:1-13 Qualifications for the office of elder and deacon.
Acts 6:1-8 Apostles appointed seven men for special administrative duties.
Acts 1:23-26 Matthias, a successor to Judas was elected.
Assembly organization is based on the five-fold ministry, which is the gift to the Assembly for the perfecting of the saints and the work of the ministry. Ephesians 14:15 "But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Messiah:"
Ephesians 5:23"For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Messiah is the head of the assembly: and he is the savior of the body."
Ephesians 2:20 The Assembly is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Yahshua, himself, being the chief corner [stone].
Ephesians 4:11-12 "And he gave some apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Yahshua:"
I Corinthians 12:28 "And Yahweh hath set some in the assembly, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues."

35. Prophecy and Signs of Fulfillment

Bible prophecy was written by men of Yah who were moved by the Kodesh Spirit, and it was given for us to determine where we are in time in relation to the second coming of Yahshua. Much of what is taking place In the political, religious, physical, and social world today it fulfillment of prophecy and reveals that the return of Yahshua is near. II Peter 1:19-21 Prophecy is sure. It is not of private interpretation. It was inspired by the Kodesh Spirit (The interpretation is universal). Matthew 24:1-41; Luke 21:6-33 Yahshua uttered prophecies concerning the siege of Jerusalem and His return. I Timothy 4:1-3; II Timothy 3:1-7 Prophecies of developments in the social and religious worlds. Matthew 24:32 As the budding of the fig tree speaks of approaching summer, fulfillment of prophecy signals the time in which we live (Absence of figs represents no kodesh fruits)

36. The Kingdom

The Kingdom is divided into three phases: (1) The Spiritual Kingdom of Grace, (2) The Millennial Reign of Yahshua, and (3) The Eternal Kingdom of Yahweh.
1) The Kingdom of Grace exists now as Yahshua reigns in the hearts of believers through the Kodesh Spirit. (Circumcision made without hands)
Matthew 3:2; 4:17 John the Baptist and Yahshua preached that the Kingdom was at hand. Colossians 1:13 We have been translated into the Kingdom.
1 Peter 2:5 We are part of a spiritual house.
Hebrews 4:16 Our invitation to approach the throne of grace.
Luke 17:20-21 The Kingdom came not with observation by the unbelievers.

2) In the millennium, Yahshua will reign on the throne of His greatness, and the redeemed will reign with Him (First fruits).

Revelation 5:10; 11:15; 12:10; 20:1-4 Yahshua's rule on the earth.
3) Following the millennium will be the eternal Kingdom of Yahweh where He will be all in all.

I Corinthians 15:24-28 Yahshua turns the kingdom over to the Father.
Also see Section 39, The New Earth, Part 2.

37. The Third Angel's Message

Evil powers referred to in Scripture as "the beast and his image," exist prior to and at the return of Yahshua. The Third Angel's Message, which warns against these evil powers, is part of the good news and should be regarded as such. This includes especially the warning to NOT take the "Mark" of the beast.

Revelation 13:1-10 The beast and his activities are described.
Revelation 14:9-11 The Third Angel's Message.

38. The Seven Last Plagues

The wrath of Yahweh against sin and sinners reaches its fullness before and at the time of the second advent of Yahshua, In the releasing of seven dreadful and devastating plagues (called "the seven last plagues") upon those "which worshipped his image." These plagues represent events in the world which cause great trouble and distress. It is a part of the assembly's job to warn the world against the suffering and disaster that comes as the result of sin. Revelation 15:1 Seven angels have the seven last plagues. Revelation 16 Seven last plagues listed and described. (16:2, on those who had the mark)

39. The New Earth

There are two phases referred to as the new earth: (1) The Millennium and (2) The Restoration.

1) The Millennium is the time during the 1,000 year rule of Yahshua on earth, while the earth is being restored.
Ecclesiastes 1:4 The earth (globe) abides forever.
Revelation 11:15, 18 Kingdoms of this world become the Kingdoms of our Master and Messiah.
Isaiah 11:6-9; 65:17-25; Paradise conditions restored. Wolf to lie down with the lamb. Isaiah 66:22-23 All flesh shall worship Him in the new earth.
2) The restoration of the earth will be completed at the close of the millennial reign of Yahshua, and the New Jerusalem will come down from heaven. In this new earth, there will be neither adversity nor marking of time Yahweh will dwell with His people. I Corinthians 15:24 The kingdom is delivered to Yahweh. II Peter 3:13 We look for a new heaven and earth. Revelation 21:2, 10 New Jerusalem. Revelation 21:3 Yahweh will be with His people and dwell with them. Revelation 21:4 Yah wipes away tears; there will be no death, sorrow, crying, or pain. Revelation 21:23; 22:5 There will be no night there. Revelation 22:2 The Tree of Life will yield fruit in each month for the healing of the nations.

40. Use of the Set-A-Part Names

The Assembly of Yah believes that the true names of the Father and the Son have been hidden from Bible readers for centuries, but have now been revealed and should be used by believers for a better understanding of their Creators and a closer walk with them. To help you find the Name "Yahweh" in the King James Version of the Bible, in the Old Testament, notice the word "LORD" in large capital letters. Each of these was "YHWH" in the original. The shortened, poetic version of YHWH is Yah. This is used in the KJV in Psalm 68:4, where it is spelled Jah. Linguists tell us that there was no "J" in the English language until the 16th century. It gradually acquired the consonantal sound of y, as in year. It is still with us in words like "hallelujah". Thus, the 16th Century translators spelled His name Jah when it was pronounced Yah. The name Jehovah is a contrived mistranslation, as any good encyclopedia will show. Most Bible authorities now agree that YHWH should be translated Yahweh. The words God and Lord are titles. Yahweh tells us to know and use His Name. Isaiah 42:8 "I am Yahweh: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another..." John 17:6, 11, 26 Yahshua manifested the Father's name. (Yahshua means the Salvation of Yah... [the Father] ) Psalm 68:4 "Sing unto God (Elohim), sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH (YAH) and rejoice before him." (KJV)

 41. Second Angels Message :

Revelation 14:8; 18:4 “Come out of her my people [Babylon]. Called out ones must come out of pagan [Baal] religions and worldly church organizations and renounce them. This is done by leaving those associations with no desire to return to them, and be baptized into the Name of Yahshua Messiah. This includes major Sabbath organizations that refuse the Name and His baptism unto the resurrection of life. See baptism number 9, 16, 17,
